Meet Sarah Addison-Fox, author of Disowned (Allegiance Series #1). This book has a great beginning that plunges the reader into the plot (pun intended) and a strong, female main character.
Two countries, two choices, one life.
When Kyraenean slave Celeste risks her life to reach the free nation of Etraea, a country filled with technology and wealth, she unknowingly sets off a chain of events that will change her life forever.
After escaping her new owner, Celeste awakens in the home of an Etraean soldier, sworn to protect the fragile peace.
For Corporal Mick Haynes, life is simple. Follow the rules, do your job and work your way up the ranks. Getting shot and finding a wanted slave at his family’s farm wasn’t part of the plan.
When a Kyraenean bounty hunter locates Celeste, Mick’s loyalty will be stretched to the limit.
With war on the horizon, Celeste faces two impossible choices. Both securing her freedom, but both at a cost she could never have imagined.
Will Etraea provide the freedom she’s longed for or shackle her to an entirely new master?
I wanted to write a story about an unwanted girl escaping from a world of slavery and darkness, to finding truth, light and a family who loves her. Disowned and the following books grew from that idea.
Disowned is the first in a four book series, the first is centered around my MC finding freedom. Each book of the series has a slightly different theme.
Etraea, is a mesh up of some modern elements with a medieval flavour. It’s a world on the cusp of change. The last of the knights are a dying breed, with modern weaponry and the Etraean army making them almost superfluous.
Because I love to read it! Because I have a daughter and because that is where I was led!
My book isn’t a typical fantasy, it’s non-magical, and has a distinct Kiwi twist.
